With each new generation, the Airborne Laser Terrain Mapper (ALTM) continues to evolve through innovation and research initiatives, operating at ever-higher altitudes and at ever higher laser repetition rates. Bundled with added solutions to meet the needs of our clients we have developed innovative features such as roll compensation, variable beam divergence, integrated digital camera and wave form digitization capabilities.

Marine Survey

Optech and has been the world leader in airborne laser bathymetry for two decades, and the Marine Survey Division continues to pace the field with the SHOALS Airborne Laser Bathymeter Systems.

Capable of either 1,000or 3,000 measurements per second of water depth, SHOALS systems offer hydrographers a cost-effective and rapid means of surveying sh allow coastal or inland waters with depth and precision measurement accurate to International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) order 1.

The Marine Survey Division continues to leverage its decades of experience and 1,400 person-years in the field of airborne laser bathymetry to develop smaller, faster, more efficient systems.

Industrial & 3D Imaging

The Industrial & 3D Imaging Division is the home of Optech’s ILRIS-3D systems, a complete line of fully portable, laser-based imaging and digitizing systems for the commercial survey and industrial markets.

The Industrial & 3D Imaging Division features an experienced, dedicated sales force that is complemented by several worldwide distribution partnerships. All ILRIS-3D units are manufactured, tested and calibrated in-house to Optech’s exacting specifications.

The Industrial & 3D Imaging Division leverages core technologies developed at Optech into products used in industrial applications. Products are based on Optech’s core competencies in laser range finding and scanning technology. These products are designed for use in niche applications where laser technology provides the most effective technical and economic solution for the end user.

Systems developed in the Industrial & 3D Imaging Division include the Cavity Monitoring System (CMS) used in precious metals underground mining, and the Sentry SR, Sentinel and Watchman series of object positioners and level monitors. These products are brought to market through strong relationships with OEMs and strategic alliances.

Space

The Space Division leverages Optech's core expertise in lidar and laser-based surveying together with a strategic partnership with world leading space robotics supplier MDA Space Missions to offer a variety of space applications, including: space object range and tracking information; object imaging and pose estimation for spacecraft rendezvous, inspection, docking and servicing missions; planetary surface mapping and autonomus hazard avoidance and precision landing systems. Optech works closely with commercial and government organizations around the world to develop state-of-the-art integrated systems for these applications.

Advanced Technology

The Advanced Technology Division is an experienced team of scientists and engineers on the leading edge of research and development in lidar technology. The Advanced Technology Division uses their many years of expertise to investigate new techniques, enhance existing products, and drive the constant innovation that makes Optech the world leader in laser-based surveying instruments.
