Optech’s Lidar Workflow Solutions workshop a great success
Toronto, Canada, October 14, 2010
Optech Incorporated, the world’s leading manufacturer of advanced lidar survey
instruments, is pleased to announce the highly successful conclusion of its Lidar Workflow Solutions workshop held
October 4, 2010, In Cologne, Germany.
The workshop included presentations on Optech's latest hardware and software releases, including the Optech Lidar
Mapping Suite 2.0 Professional Edition, an all-new lidar rectification software designed for the production processing
environment. Using the complex optical models associated with Optech's laser imaging products, Optech LMS
dynamically determines a sensor error model that is applicable across the entire project area.
“The value to this approach is that we rigorously calculate coordinates from the raw lidar data that are free of all
systematic errors,” said Michael Sitar, Optech’s Airborne Products Manager. “By doing so, we are able to provide our
clients with the highest quality lidar data product possible with associated accuracy reports, eliminating entirely the need
for further refinement. This enables users to jump directly into their value-added and application-specific workflows with
confidence.”
The Lidar Workflow Solutions workshop was shared with DiMAC sprl. Optech recently acquired the operations and assets
of this innovative digital aerial camera company, inventor of the patented DiMAC True Forward Motion Compensation
technology. “Today, quality digital aerial imagery has become a key point of lidar data delivery. Therefore, the workshop
was the perfect opportunity to present the technological advantage of the DiMAC camera to Optech users and
demonstrate the high capabilities of our solution. It was also a proper introduction to our clients of Optech’s new direction
in survey solutions for both active and passive imaging applications,” said Julien Losseau, Managing Director for DiMAC.
