AAMHatch purchases second Airborne Laser Terrain Mapper (ALTM) from Optech
Australia, November 1, 2005 – Optech Incorporated, the global market leader in the development and manufacture of laser-based survey instruments, is pleased to announce the delivery of a second Airborne Laser Terrain Mapper (ALTM) to AAMHatch in Australia.
David Collison, Optech’s Pan-Asia Regional Manager, says, “The purchase of a second ALTM system by AAMHatch is very pleasing, and has occurred within a shorter time than we had expected. The demand for lidar products throughout Australia and the region is expanding faster then we anticipated.”
”With demand for our existing ALTM currently at full capacity, it is important that AAMHatch continues to offer our clients across Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia timely ALTM data capture services”, advises AAMHatch’s General Manager, Brian Nicholls. “The addition of a second, state of the art ALTM system will ensure this occurs and will also offer a number of additional technical advantages to our clients.” Optech and AAMHatch pioneered airborne terrain mapping services throughout the region with the first delivery of an ALTM in 1998.
The ALTM 3100 is the most advanced airborne laser scanner available. With shot-to-shot elevation accuracy better than 5 cm, pulse repetition rates as high as 100 kHz, adjustable scan angle, scan frequency and pulse repetition frequency, multiple digital imaging applications and platform independent operation, the ALTM 3100 provides all Optech’s clients with the most advanced airborne laser scanning system in the world.
The delivery of the ALTM 3100 marks a milestone for both Optech and AAMHatch. Optech’s innovative work has yielded the definitive next-generation airborne laser scanner. With two ALTM systems available, AAMHatch will continue to provide the best spatial information services in Australia and the Pan-Asia region.
