SHOALS Airborne Laser Bathymeter Systems ALTM Aquarius

SHOALS Airborne Laser Bathymeters are proven survey tools used around the world. Based on the same principle as sonar, but using light instead of sound, SHOALS gathers shallow water, shoreline and topographic (ground elevation) data simultaneously, integrating land and water measurements in the same data set.
The high area coverage rate, ease of operation and flexibility of Optech's SHOALS systems offer a cost-effective complement to medium- and deep-water vessel-based surveys. Optech's laser bathymeters measure shallow coastal water depths down to 50 m. Depth and position measurements are accurate to IHO Order 1.
ALTM Aquarius - Compact Shallow Water Mapping Sensor
The ALTM Aquarius is an innovative solution for mapping coastal and inland waterways. Compatible with the ALTM Gemini system, Aquarius collects simultaneous land and water-depth measurements, enabling wholly complete data sets that span the land/water interface. Designed as a complementary sensor to Optech’s full-featured lidar bathymetry systems, Aquarius provides depth information in relatively shallow water environments not previously accessible to conventional topographic mapping sensors alone.
The ALTM Aquarius was recently awarded the MAPPS 2011 Award for Technology Innovation. The award demonstrates Optech's technological leadership in lidar bathymetry and imaging.
